History:

              The Jaguar Owners Club, Los Angeles is celebrating 68 continuous years as an official Jaguar Clubs of North America Jaguar Club in the United States. Founded in 1955 by a group of local sports car enthusiasts, the JOC became one of the premier Jag Clubs in the USA. At the time of formation many a HOLLYWOOD personality could be seen driving the XK-120 and XK-140’s around the HOLLYWOOD scene. Many a starlet’s or leading man’s pictures were taken posing in and on the bonnet or seat of a XK-120. Such personalities included ZSA ZSA Gabor, Anne Miller, Debbie Reynolds, Natalie Wood, Walter Pidgeon, Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, Wendall Corey, Ricardo Montauban, Alfred Hitchcock, and Trevor Howard to name a few. In those days the club members gathered at certain “watering holes” in Hollywood and Los Angeles, the Tam ‘O Shanter, Tail ‘O Cock, and Brown Derby were regular meeting venues where the old club members would gather and brag about how they out ran the local police cars, went to Palm Springs in record time, and what road race they were running in, Goleta, Torrey Pines, Palm Springs, or Riverside. Other notable members were Vilem B. Hahn, Phil Hill, and Charles Hornburg. These were a colorful group and they set the foundation that continues today. 

              The Club today still has the close comradery that those early members enjoyed. Today’s club members are drivers, collectors, gearheads, backyard mechanics, and just folks who like to drive their cars and enjoy meeting folks with the same passion for Jaguars.

               Whether you have a Classic XK-120, E-Type, XJS or a XJ8, F-Type, F-PACE, I-PACE, you will be welcomed by our members. The Club has at least one or two events per month, which usually includes a social meal after the event. Rally’s, Concours, Tech Sessions, Scenic Tours, Picnics, swap meets, and more, round out the year’s events with as many as 12-15 events in a calendar year. We also support the other nine Jaguar Clubs in the Greater Southwest Region, including Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Many of our members attend Concours and driving events with other car clubs with many of our members participating in local Cars & Coffee events throughout the LA Basin. There are several members who also have mechanical and restoration expertise and they are happy to share their knowledge with members. Our advertisers are also very supportive of the members and offer discounts on parts and services or recommendations on restoration services. Whether you’re a gearhead, a lead foot, or just like to tour to interesting places, the Jaguar Owners Club offers something for everyone. We are a friendly group with a rich history of fun, tradition, and passion for this unique English Marque.
