Spring is here but we are still having start up problems for 2018. We are in a period of turnover as we have had several Board members complete their service and two other Board members are out of the country for extended periods. Several things have fallen through the cracks but we think we have found them all and are moving forward.
We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
We have already had several successful events and are looking forward to many others for the rest of the year. Two important events are taking place in April. On April 22nd we will be visiting the Queen’s English Car Show. More information is available in this Newsletter. On the 28th of April we will be holding our annual Judges Training School at the Jaguar Land Rover Center in Irvine. Starting time is 9 a.m. (to 12 p.m). This is an annual event that takes place a month before our Concours that takes place at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton on May 20th. We are always looking forward to updating our current judges and to have those new to the process learn how to properly judge Concours cars to the standards set by JCNA.
If you are at all interested in learning about becoming a judge, please join us for this session. No obligation. This year it is very important for us to have as many certified judges as possible. Not only do we always need judges for our own show, and at least two other shows within our Southwest Region, but we are the host club for the 3rd Annual International Jaguar Festival to be held in November in Santa Barbara where we are hoping and expecting to have at least 80 cars for that Concours. We need certified judges to be available for this event.
More information will be available via the Newsletter and email regarding future Club events.
Now, some very exciting news regarding the International Jaguar Festival in November.
The actual dates are November 1st through the 4th with a visit to the Peterson on October 31st for those who will be in L.A. on that date.
Our IJF Chairman, Mark Mayuga has just returned from the Annual General Meeting of JCNA where he first introduced the JCNA Clubs throughout the U.S. Canada and Mexico to our plans for this event.
Mark indicates that the reception from those present was very favorable, for the events themselves, the location as well as some of the swag that will be available for participants. This represents final approval from JCNA, introduces the rest of the country to the Festival and encourages wide spread participation. We encourage all of our members to consider coming to this event. Our plans are going very well, everything is falling into place and we expect every attendee will have a terrific time.
The official announcement of the Festival is May 1st. Many ads, if you will, will be placed in local newspapers, other club Newsletters as well as all JCNA publications.
This opportunity may not come your way again – I hope to see you there.
